Louis Vuitton, synonymous with sophistication, daring and innovation, are no exception with the shoes from their Women’s Prefall 2009 Collection.

Based on a rich color palette, including chocolate browns, deep burgundies and of course black, the understated range takes a departure from the elaborate, tribal-esque shoes from the fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2009 collection.

However, the exaggerated platform is still present. The Cherie boasts an impressive platform and comes in gunmetal blue, with a skyscraper-high snakeskin heel, “fish mouth” opening where the stiletto meets the base of the foot, and tasseled ankle strap (the ribbon effect continues throughout the entire collection, including clothing). Another variation on the Cherie is a slouchy peep-toe ankle boot, using the unlikely color combination of purple-tinged navy, rich burgundy and chocolate brown – offering a small dose of daring.
