It is known that LVMH always is keen to fight those producing and selling fake products. This time, LVMH targeted to eBay. LVMH has won another case against online auction site eBay, this time for selling counterfeit Louis Vuitton products. The fashion conglomerate won an award of €80,000 from eBay relating to counterfeit Christian Dior, Kenzo, Givenchy and Guerlain perfume products which the auction site was retailing.

"Louis Vuitton welcomes this decision which confirms established case law that aims to protect the consumer from the illicit use of company trademarks," said Nathalie Moullé-Berteaux, global intellectual property director of Louis Vuitton.

eBay was ordered to pay LVMH €200,000, far less than the €1.2 million it had sought, but the judge also warned the auction site it must stop using Vuitton-related key word searches or face a fine of €1,000 every time it did so.

"This issue is being used by certain rights owners as an excuse to retain total control of what people can buy, where they can buy it from and how much they have to pay," said Yohan Ruso, director general of eBay in France.

It has not yet been announced if eBay plans to appeal against the decision. It is a real bargain to get a louis vuitton handbags with free gift.
