The Louis Vuitton Resort 2008 is whimsical and flirty, which shows us why we fell in love with Marc Jaco in the first place. Forget the debauchery that has now become a signature in LV bags; what we have here ladies, is beautiful clothes. I loved the volume in the girly girl dresses created by floaty fabrics and contrasted with cheeky prints such as airplanes, speedboats and yachts. The mix of bright colors and feminine silhouettes make for clothes that will please everyone, not just jet setting social girls that resort collections cater to. I even like the large weekender bag trimmed in red patent leather (yes I know it’s monstously huge but it’s a travel bag and I am really into red today). I know what you’re thinking- I’m softening; but it’s really a great weekender bag for those quick trips to the Bermuda when you have to get away from the city grind (though we still detest the LV monogram this bag is not as vomit inducing as most)! It’s the brand’s bread and butter, why change it and go all simple and logo-less a la Bottega Veneta right? I mean how fun would that be? Richly textured (looks like suede or could be fabric according to my source) with exotic detailing like python handles and ostrich trim, it is so lovely I can even overlook the monogram. I am especially liking the winter white version with python shoulder strap, it looks so luxurious next to the white cashmere coat. Is there anything more delicious than a white cashmere coat? Frankly speaking, this is not the most attractive bag I have ever seen from Louis Vuitton. You may have came arocss many ciccy bags before, but have you ever saw this Louis Vuitton bag? Apparently there is no end to the barrage of atrocious bags from Louis Vuitton. But let’s be fair here for a minute, I do appreciate the attempt at creativity with the LV monogram – which clearly MJ himself is sick of. And the overall design of the bags is not completely heinous (I prefer the shape of the smaller one on the right), now stick on a couple of cutsey but useless plastic buttons, stitch the monogram in yellow on top of all of Barbie’s favorite colors and you have a bag totally suitable for a chic 7 year old girl. Unfortunately the 4 figure price tag will not go over so well with her mother but her Grandmere might be persuaded.

To tell the truth, the bag is truly adorable. Soft and plushy , it is lightweight and curved so it fits perfectly against the body. The shoulder strap had seemed bulky to me in photos but it is actually flat on the bottom so it hangs on your shoulder securely without any slip and slide annoyance. The logos are not prominent and being ruched, you can’t even tell it says LV unless you are a die hard trendoid fashionista that can spot and name a Louis Vuitton bag from a mile away. Even the subtle ruffles are girly and fun, not obnoxious at all. There is also the PM (petite size around 12″) if you are not into giant bags as the GM is 19.7″.
